Are You Our Next Treasurer Or Secretary?
Millen Farm is an ACNC registered charity located in Samford and is looking for two individuals to join our board of directors to fill the role of company secretary and treasurer. Millen Farm has some exciting opportunities on the horizon and is seeking motivated people to help bring these to fruition.
Millen Farm’s mission is to:
- Establish a financially and ecologically sustainable urban farming system
- Develop opportunities for hands-on, formal and informal learning in urban organic farming
- Provide learning activities that enhance the capacity to make choices between a range of organic agricultural systems (permaculture, biodynamics, organics, biological) rather than a ‘one system is best’ approach
- Maximise underutilised private and public land for food growing
Responsible for administration of the Board, including board meeting scheduling, minute taking, AGM preparation and keeping regulatory registers up to date. The governance processes of Millen Farm are well documented so an organised person can step in and be supported to become a key member of the Millen Farm board. The current company secretary is available for handover training and ongoing support.
Responsible for maintaining the accounting records of Millen Farm in QuickBooks (cloud based), cash flow forecasting, reporting to the Board and paying creditors. Millen farm has established procedures and documentation for the month end process so this will be an easy transition for the bookkeeper or accountant who takes on this role. The existing treasurer will be available for handover training and ongoing support.
